Be Part of this Exciting Showcase

Consider submitting visual art, performance, or written work for the Being Female: Art as Empowerment Showcase this coming March 8, 2024! Details found on this website and through our contact emails.

The Being Female collective is hosting an exhibition and performance event in March 2024 for all artists in the Cortland County and surrounding areas who identify as female. The visual art show and celebration of written work will run from March 1 to March 8, 2024, in the Gallery at the Center for the Arts in Homer, New York. This will be followed by a performance event at the Center on the evening of March 8 in recognition of International Women’s Day.

In celebration of the strength and talent of local female artists of all mediums and genres, this Call to Artists is seeking submissions for work that aligns with our mission reflecting what it means to be female in today’s world. We want to see and hear how that experience has shaped you as individuals and to provide an opportunity to share your work with the community.

The Exhibition and Event Committees encourages recent work from all female artists in Cortland County and surrounding areas regardless of their experience and/or education. The main qualifications for this juried event are that the artist must identify as female, the work must be original and available for a group exhibition and event of visual art, music, writing and performances to be held at the Center for the Arts in Homer, New York in March 2024. All visual art must be gallery ready for hanging and/or display.

Entries will open on October 1, 2023, and close on January 5, 2024. Please use the online entry form at or the mail-in PDF form on our website. There is no entry fee for this juried event.
